Even though our library building is closed, we are still working virtually and remotely to meet community needs and provide resources. We’ve created the ability to get an instant digital library card for ebooks using the Libby App, we’ve organized a digital book club meeting and Facebook storytimes, and are giving our newspapers to Miller’s Merry Manor.
We continue to clean and secure our buildings and take care of essential business. Essential business does include public construction projects, which is why you’ve seen work on the roof. We are also working with contractors to get the circulation and staff areas completed while we are closed, reducing the impact on you.
These are unprecedented times, but we are doing our part to prevent community spread and keep staff and patrons safe. I do not know when our building will open again. For now, we will follow our Governor’s directive to hunker down. I do want you to know that we are working on our plans for opening, which will likely happen in phases.
We miss you and look forward to the day we can reopen the building.
