Today, the Governor reduced the number of corona-virus related restrictions in our state. We have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to prepare a plan to provide services while respecting guidelines for social distancing and cleaning. We will have staff back in the building on Monday, May 4 getting ready to implement those plans. Our drop boxes will open on Monday, May 4 for returns.
We plan to offer porch pick up of library books, movies, audiobooks, and CDs beginning Monday, May 11, Monday thru Saturday from 9-6:30pm. You can request materials for pick up through the regular reservation system in our online catalog. You can also request items by calling us at 574-654-3046 or emailing email@example.com. Even if you don’t know exactly what you want, you can give us an idea of what you like and our staff will make selections for you. When you arrive at the library, look for our signs and call or text us to let us know you’ve arrived.
Beginning Monday, May 11, we will also be taking appointments for half hour time slots for computer use. A limited number of computers will be available in order to maintain social distancing. We will also provide printing, fax, and notary service by appointment only.
All due dates were extended to May 15.
We do ask that if you, or a member of your household, have been diagnosed with coronavirus, that you keep your library materials until you are no longer contagious. We are an overdue fine free library, so no fines will be charged.
