First, there were STEM Kits, and then came the Library of Things.  Coming November 1st, Readiness Kits will be available at the Library!

What is a Readiness Kit, you ask?  Great question! First, a Readiness Kit is a fun way to explore an early literacy topic or skill. We all want kids to be successful learners and lifelong readers. Early literacy provides opportunities for children to develop a rich vocabulary, self-expression, and reading comprehension. Many times, early literacy happens through play.

Kits include Dinosaurs, Counting, Word Building, Emotions, Shapes, and many other concepts.  Each kit is a bit different, but they all contain fun and interactive activities to explore each topic.

You will find Readiness Kits near the STEM kits in the children’s department. We have changed how STEM Kits and Readiness Kits are checked out. Grab the case from the shelf and take it to the front desk (just like the Library of Things). You will receive your kit there. Make sure to stop in and check one out!
