Hometown Days is this weekend! Here’s a look back at some photos of Sidewalk Days that started in the 1950s and eventually became Historical Days in 1973 and Hometown Days in 2000. Hometown Days is a volunteer 501c3 organization. The committee works year-round, finding sponsors, hiring entertainment, planning the wiffleball tournament, and more. Hometown Days is a great weekend of food, entertainment, a parade, a car show, a whiffleball tournament, and much more! For more info www.hometowndays.net

My favorite memories of Historical Days were the Civil War re-enactments, the parades, jumping on and off the trolley, the fireworks, eating the first sweet corn of the season, and the rides, especially the “Moonwalk” (now just called a bounce house.) I never got old enough to have a drink at Ye Old Beer Garden. It always looked like so much fun!
Come out this weekend and enjoy Hometown Days and all it has to offer!
