Venture into the world of The Wild Robot by Peter Brown at the Library this spring break! This week of Library events and activities will offer you the opportunity to celebrate the book series, connect with other fans of the book, experience the new animated film in a captivating way, and exercise your creative muscles.

Experience all the fun:

  • Throughout the week, we will have a challenge set up in the Children’s Department where kids will help Roz adapt to living in the wild with imaginative solutions.
  • On Wednesday, April 2, Ms. Sarah is leading a Wild Robot art program that gives students a chance to artistically respond to the unique interaction between technology and nature in the story. A special guest, who worked at Dreamworks and whose name appears in the film’s credits, will join us to discuss the process of making an animated film.
  • On Thursday, April 3, we will have a few chances for you to help Roz escape the farm and return to her beloved island in the Wild Robot Escape Room. Sign up your family or group for one of the Wild Robot Escape Rooms through our Events Calendar.
  • On Friday, April 4, we will have two interactive experiences of the Oscar-nominated animated film The Wild Robot, based on the book series. Reserve a spot for your family or group in one of the two showings through our Events Calendar.

Plus, on the following Monday, April 7, our older Homeschool Hangout group (ages 12 and up) will have their own special opportunity to solve the Wild Robot Escape Room.

To make these events and activities possible, we are asking youth volunteers in grades 5-9 to come this Thursday, March 27 at 4:00 p.m. to help our staff prepare the materials for the week. For more information, click here or email questions@ncpl.lib.in.us
