What draws you to the Library? Is it the events where you try new things and meet new people? Is it the quiet corners and study rooms where you can focus and be productive? Is it the wide selection of books that keeps you and your kids reading? Is it the play spaces and craft supplies where your kids get messy and creative without creating a mess in your house? Is it the thrill of discovering exactly what you want to read next?
This National Library Week (April 6 – 12), we recognize the things that draw you (and us!) to the Library with a scavenger hunt. As you walk through the Library building, we invite you to explore the parts of the Library you have not delved into before.
If you have not checked out an item from the Library of Things, browse the collection. If you are over 18 or with an adult, explore the artifacts in the Local History Room—Peek into the Friends of the Library Book Sale Room to find hidden treasures waiting for you. Pause and reflect on how you and your family have enjoyed the spaces and materials, and see if you can discover new ways your library card can open doors for you.
Here’s how the scavenger hunt will work:
During National Library Week, pick up a scavenger hunt sheet at the front desk and explore the stacks to locate each of the clues hidden throughout the Library.
When you complete the scavenger hunt, turn in your sheet at the front desk to get some free Library swag and enter the prize drawing.
We will pull two winners for the drawings on Monday, April 14. Winners will receive gift cards to local businesses.
