As I get older, the choices that I make seem to affect how I feel physically in a greater way than when I was younger. I just don’t bounce back as easily as I used to. I realize that I need to take care of myself in a more deliberate way so that as I age I can continue to do the activities that I enjoy, feel strong and healthy and not have to spend this part of my life struggling. Health concerns can still happen, but I want to do what I can now to be as healthy as I can be.
This is where the WISE Program can help. The WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) Program through Real Services will offer a free 6 week series here at the library that covers a wide range of topics: Learn about the aging process and how to make healthy lifestyle choices, Celebrate this exciting stage of life and all the benefits that come with it, Discuss risk factors and behaviors you should avoid to stay healthy, Examine how alcohol, prescription medications and over-the-counter medications affect seniors differently and how you can avoid problems, Learn how to use simple tools to help you feel more empowered about your health and the healthcare you receive.
Each of the six lessons last 1 1/2 -2 hours. There will be a snack provided during each program. This program is geared toward adults 60+. Click here to register for this free program and make a positive step in your life for a healthier you.
