Over 13 years since the full release of the Minecraft video game, the film adaptation of the game raked in over $950 million in April. Seeing how many books about Minecraft get regularly checked out and how often the kids of our community sit together in the Children’s Department to play Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch, it is clear the appeal of this free world of creativity is still going strong.
Since the Library’s theme this summer is Level Up at Your Library, we are excited to celebrate the ways video games give us space to express ourselves and stories we can be a part of. At the Library, we are all offering you a space where you can be creative and create amazing stories! That’s why we brought you into the Overworld at our Minecraft Escape Rooms, and we are going to have an interactive viewing experience of A Minecraft Movie on July 18. We will munch on popcorn, build, craft, imagine, and sing-along with Steve.
Have you had the “Lava Chicken” jingle stuck in your head? Or does someone in your household like to randomly shout, “Chicken Jockey?” You won’t want to miss this viewing experience! The zany adventure of Henry, Nat, Dawn, and Garrett through the Overworld is colorful and fun on its own, but we are bringing the fun to the next level with crafts and games designed to accompany the movie, Legos, and more.
Sign up now on our website to enjoy the interactive viewing of A Minecraft Movie with us at 2:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. on July 18!
