We’ve been listening, reflecting, and dreaming. Now it’s time to put those ideas into action with a refreshed Long-Range Plan.
A Long-Range Plan is a strategic guide that we’ll use to shape the future of our library—including the programs we offer, the spaces we create, and the services we provide.
To develop this plan, we gathered input from a variety of people, including community members, our Library Board, and staff. Gathering this input is a valuable opportunity to reflect, dream big, and set clear goals for the future.
We’re excited to move forward with this plan in hand, and we thank everyone who contributed their thoughts and ideas. Your voice is helping shape the future of our library!
Our library’s updated Long-Range Plan for 2026–2030 reflects what matters most to our community, which is reflected in our core values. You can read it in full here.
Community
NCPL serves as a vital hub for New Carlisle and Olive Township, providing welcoming spaces, responsive services, rich collections, engaging events, and meaningful learning opportunities. All decision-making—whether related to collections, services, technology, space, or staffing—is driven by a deep understanding of our community’s changing demographics, priorities, and dreams for the future.
Connections
NCPL connects people to the resources and services that enrich their lives. Our collections and databases are thoughtfully curated based on community input, interests, and needs.
Creative Learning
Reading remains at the core of NCPL’s mission, but we recognize that success in today’s world requires a broad range of literacies.
Inclusion and Accessibility
NCPL is committed to creating a space where all people feel welcome, respected, and supported. By supporting diverse learning needs and life experiences, NCPL helps prepare community members of all ages and abilities to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
