Let’s face it.  We just survived a tough winter.  Now that the flowers are starting to bloom and trees are budding, we can breathe in the clean, new spring air and think about all of the ways that we can refresh our lives – our health, our homes, our back yards – as the spring sun shines warmly on us.

Enjoy the outdoors!  Take a hike at one of our beautiful local parks or check out a new one.  Bring your dog and investigate the new plant life that is coming to life.  Choose some new recipes that incorporate more fresh ingredients and add some new flavors to your diet.  Drink more water as you move around.

While you are outside, prep your soil for a garden, plant native plant seeds, or plan your veggie garden.  Take some time to enjoy the beautiful colors and wonderful smells of the young buds and freshly turned earth. Watch the birds as they come alive during this time of rebirth.

Enjoying the outdoors is maybe the easiest part of this spring refresh.  Cleaning and going through your home – not so fun.  But the rewards of a clean, fresh home are many.  Clean floors and surfaces  – wonderful.  Clutter put away – awesome.  Clean, fresh bathroom and kitchen – priceless!  Feeling like you can have guests come visit – freeing.  Also, why not go through your wardrobe and donate items that you didn’t wear in the past season?  There’ll be more room for you to see and use the clothes that you actually wear.

There is an abundance of things to “refresh” this spring.  Be kind to yourself and don’t try to do everything all at once.  Choose one area to start with, then dig in, and then reward yourself with a nice walk outside.
