Purpose
The Homebound Service is designed to provide equitable access to library materials for residents of Olive Township who are unable to visit the library due to age, physical disability, injury, or illness.
Eligibility
Residents of Olive Township are eligible for the Homebound Service if they are temporarily or permanently unable to travel to the library due to an age-related condition, physical disability, injury, or illness. Eligibility may be re-evaluated periodically to ensure continued need.
Service Overview
Library materials are delivered directly to patrons’ residences. Delivery can be made either in person with a brief interaction or contactless by leaving the items, according to the patron’s preference.
Enrollment Process
Eligible patrons or their caregivers will meet with the designated library staff member, either in person or by phone, to establish their reading, listening, or viewing preferences. Patrons may request specific titles or provide general interests to allow staff to select materials on their behalf. Feedback on materials is encouraged to improve future selections.
Delivery Schedule
Patrons may choose to receive deliveries on a biweekly (every other week) or monthly basis; however, delivery schedules may be subject to change based on availability or holidays.
