New Carlisle-Olive Township Public Library early literacy program called “On My Way-Growing while I read, write, sing, talk, and play.” This program is for children who are not yet in school. “On My Way” runs from September through May.
While we know that reading is important, it is not the only experience that helps children get ready to read. Writing, singing, talking,and playing are also important parts of preparing for success.
We also know that parents and caregivers are a child’s first and best teacher. So we’ve gathered activities and all the supplies you need to participate with your child in this program. Each month’s activities coincide with the themes of our Storytimes and are available to pick up the first of the month or at Storytime. Families will have the option to participate in the program, fully digitally, using the Beanstack app. We hope you will use this as a tool for fun and learning throughout the month.
