Take charge of your health in 2023 with help from the Library! Our classes will focus on exercise, healthy cooking, prevention, and wellness. These activities were made possible, in part, with support from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. These classes are geared toward seniors, but all adults are welcome to attend. After attending ten programs, you will receive a water bottle. After attending 20 programs, you will receive a t-shirt.

Exercise classes will be every Monday starting in December and going through May at 9:30 a.m ET.
December, April, and May: Pat Waldo, a “Certified Yoga Instructor,” will teach chair yoga. It is an excellent form of yoga for beginners or anyone who wants to focus on gentle practice. This class will focus on improving flexibility and balance.
January and February: Kristy Putnam, Tai Chi Easy™ Senior Trainer of the Integral Institute of Qigong and Tai Chi and a certified health coach. Tai Chi Easy™ is a practice that combines gentle exercises, breath practices, self-massage, and meditation to help you experience a refreshing, healing boost to body, mind, and spirit.
March: Join Moira every Monday during March as she runs a fun and challenging low-impact cardiovascular class where participants will engage in an exercise focused on strengthening their hearts and lungs. She has been working in the Health and Wellness industry since 2015.

Monday, January 23, 10:30 a.m ET: Healthy Living: Soups and Snacks
Nothing we love more than a good hearty soup to simmer up on a cool day! We will make barley and hamburger stew and then make homemade hummus by hand and with a mixer. Both are yummy ways to eat healthy this winter season. Participants will get to help make the hummus, and everyone will get to eat the stew.
