I think we need lazy summer days now more than ever.  When I think back to my childhood summers, the things dearest to me were the hours of imaginative play in my backyard and the hours spent curled up next to my grandma on her porch, listening to her read to me.

We have so many exciting things planned at the Library this summer. We hope you will join us. To register for the programs and camps, we will have this summer, visit our website, www.ncpl.lib.in.us and click on events.

Track the minutes you read this summer by joining our Summer Reading Challenge.  Download the Beanstack app or pick up a paper tracker at the library.  For every 100 minutes, up to 1,000 minutes, you read between June 1 and July 31 earns you a ticket for a prize drawing.  Kids and Teens, because you are extra special, every 100 minutes, up to 1,000 minutes, you read also earns you a free book or coupon for an ice cream cone at Meyer’s Ice Cream.   Stop in any time after May 15 to pick up your Summer Reading lanyard and earn buttons for all the reading you do.  You can also pick up your lanyard at our Summer Reading Kickoff Bash on Thursday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m., where we will have sweet treats and activities.

We hope you will laugh, play, walk, run, dream, create, and imagine this summer.    –  Sarah
