Rules:
- The theme of the comic strip is “Adventures in Indiana”.
- Entries are limited to one per person.
- Comic strips may be 1-4 frames. Four frames is the maximum.
- Artwork can be created digitally or animated by hand.
- Maximum finished size is 8.5 x 11 or 2550×3300 DPI.
- All featured artwork must be original in text and imagery. Any previously published work will not be accepted.
- Entries must include the artist’s first and last name and phone number. Please also include guardian’s information for minors.
- Submissions will not be returned. Please consider entering a copy (digital or high-quality photocopy).
- Entries will be judged using a rubric scale. The categories for judging will include Originality, Creativity, Quality, and Relation to Theme. The panel of judges includes library staff and community art specialists.
- Entries are due by Friday, April 26 at 5 p.m. EST. You may drop them off at the New Carlisle Public Library or the Historic New Carlisle Museum or by emailing questions@ncpl.lib.in.us.
Winners:
- 1st and 2nd place prizes for Grades 1-5, Grades 6-12, and Adults 18+
- Winners will be notified by Monday, April 29, with an awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 30, at 6 p.m. EST.
- 1st place winners’ comic strips will be printed in the June-July Monthly Snapshot published by the NCPL. 1st and 2nd place winners’ names will be printed in the same publication. All winning comic strips will be displayed in the library during May and June.
