Celebrate stories and the power of reading with us for Read Across America Day! We will have stations for classic storybook characters like the Pigeon, the Rainbow Fish, Bruce the Bear, Pete the Cat, Dog Man, and more. As you work your way through the stations during this open house event, you can collect bookish goodies, make story-related crafts, act out parts of the stories, enjoy themed snacks, and more. Our staff will be dressed as the book characters at our stations, so we encourage you and your family to come dressed as your favorite book characters too!
Read Across America Day is an annual program launched by the National Education Association to encourage children and teens to read. You can always encourage your kiddos to read by getting excited with them about the books they read. Celebrating the stories they enjoy is a great way to grow their love of reading and teach them how stories can connect them with others.
Bring your whole family to the Library between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, to see your favorite stories come to life!
