September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and there’s never been a better time to visit your local public library! Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm or someone just looking for free resources and community connection, a library card is your ticket to a world of possibilities — and it’s absolutely free.
A library card gives you access to much more than just books. Here’s what you can explore with your card at the New Carlisle-Olive Township Public Library (NCPL):
- Borrow books, DVDs, and audiobooks
- Download eBooks and stream movies
- Access online databases and research help
- Use public computers, free Wi-Fi, and printing services
- Attend free events, classes, and storytimes
Whether you’re learning a new skill, helping your child succeed in school, or just looking for your next great read — NCPL is here for you.
Signing up is easy:
- Visit NCPL at 408 S. Bray Street in New Carlisle.
- Bring a valid photo ID and proof of address
- Fill out a quick application
- Receive a free NCPL gift. (only in September)
- Start using your card the same day!
Parents and guardians can also sign children up for their very own library cards — a perfect way to build reading habits early in life.
Your library card is one of the most powerful cards in your wallet. It connects you to knowledge, culture, technology, and community — all under one roof. If you haven’t used your card in a while, or don’t yet have one, let Library Card Sign-Up Month be your reason to stop in.
