We are excited to announce that you can now find items from our Local History Room accessible to view from home. Simply go to our website and click on the Virtual Library circle. You’ll find the Local History square there.
Click on that and you’ll be on your way to finding all the interesting local history. Right now, we have all of the programs from the Carlisle Clover Club from 1899-1972. This is the social club in New Carlisle that conceived and implemented the idea to start a library.
You can also page through scrapbooks from the Mothers of World War II. Another scrapbook collected local news articles. There are lots of wedding announcements, obituaries, anniversaries, but also an article about the perennial question about fast time/slow time. Every page has some interesting tidbit about New Carlisle, Hudson Lake, Galien and the families that live here.
