You can now check out rechargeable mobile hotspots from our Library of Things! If you work from home, you can take a break from your home office and check out a mobile hotspot to work on-the-go. Whether your summer plans involve going on a road trip before school starts or spending some time outdoors, bring your devices and connect to the internet wherever there is cellular reception.

Mobile hotspots, like the Franklin Mobile Hotspots in our collection, convert a 4G connection to a Wi-Fi signal, so you can connect multiple devices at once, such as laptops and tablets to the internet. While many smartphones have a hotspot feature, using this feature can quickly drain your phone’s battery, whereas an external device with a larger battery can last longer and conserve your phone’s battery. You can also use a mobile hotspot instead of connecting to a public or unsecured Wi-Fi access point for increased security.

Come to the Library to check out one of our two mobile hotspot devices or place a hold in our online catalog!

Patrons must be at least 18 years of age and have a signed waiver to check out items from our Library of Things collection. The Library’s Internet Use Policy applies to the use of mobile hotspots
