There is a brand new look to the catalog! Start by visiting our website www.ncpl.lib.in.us and typing your search into the box at the top of the page. When you get to the catalog, login with your library card number and password. (If you’ve never done this before, your password is your 7 digit phone number). By logging in you will be able to put reserves on the items you are looking for by using the large reserve button to the right. If the item is available, a staff member will pull it for you and have it waiting for you.
There are a couple of other new features you will want to use. The sort pull down menu at the top will allow you to sort by relevance, title, author or copyright year. If you are looking for an author’s latest title, you will want to sort by copyright year and use the sort direction descending. This will put the newest titles at the top and it’s easier than ever to see if it’s large print, a DVD, or an audiobook.
If you need more ways to refine search, look for the blue button on the left side. This will allow you to sort by availability, material type, or even Lexile level. (Schools use Lexile levels to match students with reading materials at the right skill level.)
